ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024: Day 18 Match Predictions

Aditya Chaudhuri Aditya Chaudhuri

After a little over two weeks of action in the Group Stage of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, we have the final eight teams remaining.

We have some surprise teams coming into the Super Eight stage, a couple of former champions, and also a few dark horses, all ready to secure the coveted trophy.

Here’s my prediction of the first Super Eight game.

Men’s T20 WC 2024 Super Eight Group 2: South Africa vs USA | 20:00 IST, June 19

Two weeks ago, when the T20 World Cup started, if one said that the US would make the Super Eights, many would have brushed that statement aside with a chuckle.

But a strong campaign from the Americans, which saw them beat Pakistan and Canada, has brought them to the next stage, thought they will have their task cut out against the unbeaten South Africans.

At the North Sound ground, which isn’t the most high-scoring venue, the US will be confident given their performances in New York, but even though we might be in for an exciting encounter, I have South Africa taking the win here.

Fantasy XI: Quinton de Kock, Andries Gous, Monank Patel, David Miller, Aaron Jones, Heinrich Klaasen, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ottneil Baartman, Saurabh Netravalkar, Shadley van Schalkwyk

Venue: North South
Winner Prediction: South Africa
