Asian Football Confederation (AFC) renews Astro partnership
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced a renewal of its partnership with Astro, a Malaysian content and entertainment provider.
Astro will thus remain the Official Media Partner of the Asian football–governing body in Malaysia, providing “comprehensive coverage” of Asian football to fans as well as holding the media rights to the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
Additionally, Astro will also hold the rights for all games of the AFC Champions League Elite, the AFC Champions League Two, and the AFC Women’s Champions League until the conclusion of their 2028/29 editions.
Datuk Seri Windsor John, AFC General Secretary:
“Astro has been a fantastic partner in growing the footprint of the Asian game in Malaysia, and we are confident they will continue to deliver captivating, multi-platform viewing experiences for Asia’s premier football tournaments. Renewing our long-standing alliance with Astro reflects our shared vision of bringing the Continent’s world-class AFC competitions closer to fans and we look forward to working hand-in-hand with Astro to deepen football engagement and showcase the incredible talent across Asia.”
Patrick Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Football Group, added:
“As the home of the AFC, Malaysia sits at the heart of Asian football, and this renewal keeps fans connected to AFC competitions through to 2028/29. Astro has been a long-term media partner of the AFC and we are delighted to continue our partnership for more seasons to come.”
