Beverage company joins as official drink partner

English Premier League side Aston Villa have signed a two-year deal with Monster Energy, bringing on the drinks company as their Official Energy Drink Partner. The deal sees the US-based company promote its brand across the club’s channels and also get involved with their global fan base.

Monster Energy, founded in 2002, is one of the leading energy drinks in the world. Being distributed in over 140 markets worldwide, the company has seen several high-profile sponsorships in sports.

Nicola Ibbetson, Chief Commercial Officer at Aston Villa, said, “We are delighted to welcome Monster Energy to Aston Villa as the Club’s Official Energy Drink Partner. Monster Energy is a global brand who is dedicated to enhancing the world for both athletes and fans. We look forward to working with them over the next two years.”

While Monster Energy’s SVP Marketing, Jimmy Goodrich, also spoke about the possibilities of the tie up, “We’re incredibly proud to be able to announce our partnership with Aston Villa and look forward to bringing that same sense of excitement to the wider fan base. Like them, we’re longing to step back into capacity stadiums as soon as possible and are excited about how we work with the Club and the fans, both in the UK and abroad, to bring everyone closer together whether digitally or in person.”

This is not the first time Monster Energy has tied up with a Premier League club, having previously partnered with Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Southampton, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Other than football, the company also has a sponsorship deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)
