Kinguin announces new tournament for former CS:GO pros

Esports and gaming marketplace Kinguin has announced the launch of a new tournament called “Kinguin Legends”, which will see former professional CS:GO players compete.

Kinguin has announced that “legendary CS:GO professionals” will be returning to the competitive scene to participate in the tournament, and that each former professional will be “captaining” a roster.

Even though Kinguin hasn’t revealed who the players will be, it has stated that the event will be focused on “reigniting the legendary stories of esports pros from across the world”.

Viktor Romaniuk Wanli, Founder and Creative Director at Kinguin, commented:

Kinguin Legends was created from the notion that we all remember the iconic moments in esports and the emotions associated with them.

We wanted to provide a space for the community to relive those moments, with some of their favourite esports personalities, and create new and equally thrilling moments to live alongside them. We hope that fans enjoy the competition and continue to tune in for many years to come.

Kinguin previously had its own CS:GO team, but after a long gap it returned to the competitive scene in 2021 through its sponsorship of Polish team Anonymo.

Even though it doesn’t have a team currently, this is the first time Kinguin is hosting a standalone tournament.

The first edition of the Kinguin Legends tournament is set to be held in the summer of 2022, and even though the inaugural edition will be a CS:GO event, Kinguin has announced that it plans to feature more esports titles in the future.
