ABOUT

Mohammed Shami is currently the fastest bowler India have in their roster and is quite effective with his reverse swings. Shami took time to get into the Indian team, but with solid performances both in and outside the Subcontinent the bowler has now cemented his place in the first team. His debut in Test cricket was the turning point in his career when he picked up a five-wicket haul against the West Indies in 2013.

As far as the T20 format is concerned, Shami plays for the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League and is their main wicket-taker. Though Shami has featured for India in T20Is only 12 times, he has been included in the team for his consistent displays for the Punjab franchise.

 

STYLE OF PLAY

Shami is the fastest bowler in the Indian squad and constantly hits speed up to 150 mph. Not a great swing bowler, but he is effective with his pace and experience. Lately, he has also worked on his batting and can score valuable runs in the bottom order.
