India’s star badminton player, PV Sindhu, has been roped in as an ambassador of Visa for the next two years. Sindhu will feature in multiple advertising campaigns for Visa spread across different mediums. Sindhu will also be supported by Visa’s global athlete support program – Team Visa, at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo.
T.R. Ramachandran, group country manager, Visa India, and South Asia said, “Sports is something that unites citizens across the globe just the way we process payments the world over. We strongly believe in being there for athletes who are bringing the world closer and display breakthrough performances irrespective of challenges. Team Visa is our initiative to enable these endeavors to support competitive athletes. While PV Sindhu has already set the gold standard in Indian sports, we are excited to partner with her as she gears up for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.”
Team Visa athletes are carefully selected based on the performance expected of them. These athletes are then fully supported by Team Visa at Olympic and Paralympic events. Team Visa provides the athletes with the necessary resources and equipment to help them perform better. Since its inception in 2000, Team Visa has sponsored 400 Olympic and Paralympic athletes from across the world.
