South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung has roped in South Korean footballing star Son Heung-min as a brand ambassador.
Son was recently spotted at Incheon International Airport donning a black smartwatch on his wrist. Samsung later confirmed that the South Korea international was wearing the Galaxy Watch 6, officially launched during Galaxy Unpacked 2023.
According to Korean Economic Daily, Samsung released a statement that said that Son would work as Samsung’s Galaxy brand ambassador and that consumers could expect him to be featured in upcoming ventures with Samsung.
The Galaxy Watch 6 had its world premiere at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 26 in Seoul alongside Samsung Electronics’ new foldables, including the Z Flip 5 and the Z Fold 5.
“Samsung Electronics is delighted to work together with Son Heung-min, who has given so much joy to Koreans via soccer,” the company said in a press release dated July 14.
“[Son] plans to show various looks with the Galaxy brand.”
“The watch Son was caught wearing is the new Galaxy watch series we plan to showcase,” Samsung Electronics confirmed.
The 31-year-old posted a social media post on this Instagram account on July 27 to announce his collaboration with the smartphone manufacturer.
