Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is one of the most recognised names in India. Having won gold at the 2019 World Championship and having become the first Indian female athlete to win two individual medals at the Olympics, worldwide success has made the badminton player hailing from Hyderabad a sporting icon in the country. Sindhu had a career-high ranking of world no. 2 in 2017, and recently won gold at 2022 Commonwealth Games. Aside from her on-court heroics, Sindhu is also one of the highest-paid female athletes, as reported by Forbes. Biryani By Kilo - Biryani By Kilo (BBK), a food start-up run by Gurugram-based Sky Gate Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., announced acer shuttler, PV Sindhu, as its first-ever brand ambassador in January 2023. Sindhu will be seen face as the face of the brand, with their association considered more meaningful since the shuttler was born and brought up in Hyderabad according to the brand.
