Harry Kane’s Nike deal “put on hold” due to Haaland effect

Tottenham Hotspur’s star striker Harry Kane has had his lucrative boot deal with Nike “put on hold”. Kane was supposed to extend his contract with Nike after the upcoming Qatar World Cup. However, negotiations for the extension are said to have halted recently as a result of Norway and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland‘s strong performances since joining the Cityzens in the summer.

Some of the largest sportswear companies, including Nike, are reportedly interested in Haaland and are giving the Norwegian superstar top priority, despite him not going to the World Cup.

Since his contract with Nike expired and his deal with Adidas expired in January 2022, Haaland has been spotted wearing Adidas and Puma boots, though it is believed that he often wears Nike boots as well.

As a result, it has been stated that Kane’s new contract with Nike, which has been placed on hold while Nike attempts to get Haaland to represent its brand, may be in jeopardy.
