This article contains information about the organisations serving as official sponsors and partners to National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise Los Angeles Clippers during the 2023/24 season.
Aspiration, a provider of service solutions for consumers and companies, and the LA Clippers announced a multi-year partnership agreement in September 2021, which made Aspiration the first Founding Partner of Intuit Dome, the future home of the Clippers.
As per the deal, Aspiration receives physical and digital signage elements, activations that promote sustainability, hospitality elements, and more as Intuit Dome’s first Founding Partner and a team partner of the Clippers. Aspiration also acts as the presenting partner of the Clipper Nation MVP Program, which provides special advantages to season ticket holders.
Aspiration also collaborates with the Clippers’ “Mentorship Assist Zone” programme, which offers education and career exposure to underprivileged youngsters in southern California.
As per reports, the Clippers signed the 23-year deal with Aspiration for US$300 million.
In October 2022, the LA Clippers and Globant, an IT software and development business, announced a multi-year cooperation agreement to assist in the integration of the digital roadmap for Intuit Dome, which is scheduled to open in Inglewood in 2024.
As the Clippers’ partner in digital transformation, Globant is to provide the team with the tech necessary to realise their vision for the Dome, with an emphasis on reducing friction and forging seamless connections that enhance the fan experience.
Pirnia Law Group, a legal services company, and the Clippers established a multi-year relationship in October 2022, Pirnia becoming the team’s official legal advisor in the process.
In-arena activations, giveaways, digital and social components, hospitality, and synergies throughout the LA community are all part of the collaboration agreement.
The Clippers made Pechanga Resort Casino, a 200,000-sq-ft casino in California, their exclusive tribal casino as part of a multi-year agreement in October 2022.
In order to honour the partnership, the Clippers gave Pechanga officials a jersey during their pre-season game against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena, their current home ground.
Intuit, a multinational technology company that develops TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mint, and the Clippers announced a 23-year strategic relationship in September 2021.
Intuit Dome, the future home of the Clippers, is set to open in Inglewood, California, in time for the 2024/25 NBA season, with Intuit acting as the venue’s exclusive naming rights partner.
Verizon, a New York-based telecom company, announced a 5G network deployment agreement for more than 60 NBA stadiums after striking multi-year deals to become the official 5G partner of 15 NBA teams in May 2021.
Alongside the Clippers, the following NBA teams have installed Verizon’s 5G tech at their respective arenas: the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Denver Nuggets, the Detroit Pistons, the Golden State Warriors, the LA Lakers, the Memphis Grizzlies, the New York Knicks, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Phoenix Suns, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Sacramento Kings, the Utah Jazz, and the Washington Wizards.
The Clippers partnered with massage therapy device company Therabody in April 2021.
Through this partnership, Therabody works directly with the team, helping them improve the recovery of their players. Each Clippers player receives different care based on his position, and Therabody creates custom protocols to benefit each of them.
Therabody provides the Clippers players with Theragun PROS and Wave Rollers during both games and practices. The team are also allowed to use Therabody’s proprietary compression tech, RecoveryAir.
In March 2021, online gambling and betting company Betway revealed sponsorship agreements with seven NBA and NHL teams.
In addition to the LA Clippers, Betway has NBA affiliations with the Brooklyn Nets, the Chicago Bulls, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Golden State Warriors.
The Clippers and Second Spectrum, the NBA’s official video tracking tech provider, developed “Clippers CourtVision”, a live, augmented game-watching platform. In February 2019, Amazon and the Clippers announced their partnership, making Amazon Web Services (AWS) the platform’s primary cloud computing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence provider.
Furthermore, Clippers CourtVision uses Amazon’s SageMaker in order to create, train, and deploy machine learning-driven stats that are shown during live broadcasts and on-demand NBA game recordings.
In August 2018, the Clippers and North American ticket provider Vivid Seats announced their partnership, the latter becoming the Clippers’ official ticket provider starting with the 2018/19 season.
The multi-year agreement entails integration with AXS, the Clippers’ ticketing service provider since 2017, allowing fans to easily buy and sell tickets on Vivid Seats as well as the AXS marketplace.
Taiwanese airline Starlux announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Clippers in March 2023.
The announcement came a few weeks before Starlux launched a new flight route from Taipei to Los Angeles. The airline also announced that it would establish its first American office in Los Angeles and act as the Clippers’ official international airline partner.
Kaptyn, an Electric Vehicle (EV) mobility platform, announced in March 2023 that it would become the Official Premium Transportation Partner of the Clippers.
As the Official Premium Transportation Partner of the Clippers, Kaptyn provides rides for the Clippers Organisation and VIP fans as well as offer 20% off on rides to any customer who books Kaptyn on a Clippers gameday using promo code GAMEDAY on the company’s website.
KTLA is a television station in Los Angeles, serving as the West Coast flagship of The CW Television Network.
In September 2022, KTLA and the Clippers announced a broadcast television partnership agreement to bring live Clippers games to over-the-air television in southern California for the 2022/23 season.
As per the deal, KTLA 5 broadcasts four pre-season games and 11 regular season games, while also producing pre-game, halftime, and post-game coverage.
In September 2023, KTLA and the Clippers extended their partnership through the 2024/25 NBA season. In addition to game coverage, the new partnership also entails Clippers’ Clipboard, a mini-series providing behind-the-scenes off-season content.
In March 2017, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a non-profit, tertiary, 915-bed teaching hospital and multi-specialty academic health science centre located in Los Angeles, California, signed a multi-year partnership agreement with the Clippers.
Kia, a South Korean multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, has been serving as an official partner to the Clippers since May 2016.
