Williams Racing announce partnership with Currys

British motorsport team Williams Racing have announced a new partnership with electrical retailer Currys. The partnership will see Currys back Williams’ esports division.

The agreement will see Williams and Currys co-launch a marketing campaign which will provide accessible racing and also help uncover budding esports racers in the UK. The partnership will also have branded Williams Esports racing simulators placed in more than 50 gaming shops in the UK. The quickest races will qualify for the Currys Racing League, which will be held at the Williams Racing esports facility, Williams Esports Lounge.

A couple of the quickest drivers will also stand a chance to participate in one-on-one teaching classes and even get a chance to work at the Williams Esports Academy.

Steven English, Head of Esports at Williams Racing, commented:

We are extremely excited to be working with Currys on such an interesting and rewarding marketing campaign. The alternative to offer accessible racing and an introduction to the world of esports throughout the UK is invaluable, and I do know that the teaching clinics will spark a curiosity for a lot of people, as they uncover the joy of digital racing.

Along with offering nationwide visibility for the Williams Esports model, I’m assured that our partnership will even assist to uncover budding esports racers and a wealth of hidden expertise while producing some nice racing.

The Williams Racing Esports team will also be running coaching clinics for budding sim racers in each of the stores that will have Williams-branded simulators.
