KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS 2021 SPONSORS

KKR have won the IPL twice, but have come up empty-handed since 2014. Last season they missed out on a play-off place on Net Run Rate. This year, they’ll be gunning to make a better show of themselves. Here’s a list of their sponsors going into the 2021 Indian Premier League.

PRINCIPAL SPONSOR

MPL (Mobile Premier League) – The Bangalore-headquartered mobile eSports and fantasy sports platform became the Principal Sponsor of KKR in August 2020, replacing Finnish tech company Nokia.
Initially, edutech platform Byju’s was roped in as the new Principal Sponsor in March 2020, but the company pulled out after the tournament got delayed and later moved out of India.

OFFICIAL SPONSORS

Following brands are listed on the KKR website as their Official Sponsors – the second tier of the franchise’s sponsorship portfolio.

Reliance Jio – The Mumbai-based Indian telecom giant has maintained a sponsorship deal with all eight teams across the IPL since the 2018 season. For KKR, however, Jio has been the principal back-of-shirt sponsor on the team’s matchday shirt since the 2017 season.

Lux Cozi – The premium innerwear brand of the Kolkata-headquartered Lux Industries serves as the Official Kit and Merchandise Partner to KKR since the 2016. Lux Cozi’s logo duly appears at the front of KKR’s matchday shirt, on the top left corner.

TV9 Bharatvarsh – The Noida-based Hindi news network became an Official Sponsor to KKR in September 2020. TV9’s logo can be seen on the sleeves of KKR’s matchday shirt.


Astral Pipes –
The Ahmedabad-headquartered plumbing and drainage systems manufacturer was announced as an Official Partner of KKR in August 2020. Astral’s logo can be seen on the sleeves of KKR’s matchday shirt.

RR Kabel – The Mumbai-based wires and cables manufacturer has been roped in by KKR as an Official Sponsor ahead of the 2021 IPL. Its logo will be seen on KKR’s matchday trousers.

Colgate – The dental care brand was announced as the Official Smile and Oral Hygiene Partner of six out of eight IPL teams – excluding CSK and RCB – in September 2020 in a two-year deal. The deal is aimed at lifting the public’s spirits with a smile and optimism amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Wrogn – Virat Kohli’s youth fashion brand Wrogn also serves as an Official Merchandise Partner to KKR. Ahead of the 2021 IPL, the brand’s sportswear division has been announced as KKR’s Official Kit Supplier. Wrogn’s logo will also feature on the team’s matchday trousers.

Unacademy – The Bangalore-based Indian online education platform joins KKR’s sponsorship portfolio as an Official Sponsor ahead of the 2021 IPL.


Pentonic –
Pentonic is a range of pens offered by the Kolkata-based stationery brand Linc. It joins the KKR sponsorship portfolio as an Associate Sponsor ahead of the 2021 IPL.

 

OFFICIAL PARTNERS

Following brands are listed on the KKR website as their Official Partner – the third tier of the franchise’s sponsorship portfolio.

Kotak – The Mumbai-headquartered banking products and financial services provider serves as an Official Partner to KKR since September 2020. As per the deal, Kotak has designed KKR-themed debit and credit cards for the team’s supporters.

Kingfisher Calendar – The United Breweries Group-published calendar is a long-time Official Partner of KKR.


BKT –
Ahead of the 2021 IPL season, Mumbai-based tire manufacturer BKT (Balkrishna Industries Limited) signed a sponsorship deal with seven out of eight teams (Sunrisers Hyderabad excluded) in March 2021 to become their Official Tire Partner.

Mio Amore – Mio Amore is a cakery based in Kolkata. It joins KKR’s sponsorship portfolio as an Official Partner ahead of the 2021 IPL.


Amul Kool –
Anand-based famous Indian dairy products corporation Amul’s iced flavoured milk brand also joins KKR’s sponsorship portfolio as an Official Partner ahead of the 2021 IPL.

MX TakaTak – The Mumbai-based content creating platform signed exclusive content and sponsorship deals with seven teams – excluding CSK – ahead of IPL 2021. The deal sees these teams create exclusive digital content on the platform throughout the course of the partnership.

Socios.com – The cryptocurrency-based fan engagement platform announced that it had joined the sponsorship portfolios of three IPL teams – KKR, RCB and PK – in May 2021.
Via Socios.com, these teams are able to offer their fans a chance to obtain Fan Tokens that allow them to participate in several team-oriented activities. These Fan Tokens are limited in number and can be bought, sold or won in an augmented reality in-game.

MERCHANDISE PARTNERS

Following is a list of brands KKR have a merchandising deal with. The deal sees these brands make KKR-themed products for their fans, as well as provide exclusive experience opportunities.

Bewakoof.com – Bewakoof.com is a Mumbai-based manufacturer of pop culture-themed products ranging from clothing to smartphone covers.


boAt –
boAt is a manufacturer and marketer of audio products, adapters and cables. It serves as the Official Audio and Merchandise Partner to six IPL teams, excluding Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.

CricFig – CricFig serves as the Official Licensed Figurine Partner to KKR since March 2019, designing miniature figurines of the team’s players.


Gully –
Gully is a streetwear brand headquartered in Mumbai.

The Arena (Suditi Industries) – The Area is a sports merchandise brand of Navi Mumbai-headquartered apparel company Suditi Industries.


The Souled Store –
The Souled Store is a Mumbai-based manufacturer of pop culture-themed products ranging from clothing to stationery.
