The PGA Tour has revealed a partnership agreement with global professional services firm Aon, which will offer the professional golf organiser real-time analytics and work with it on producing insights and unique experiences for the fans.

Aon will present the “Aon Next 10” and “Aon Swing 5”, with the latter “recognising better decision-making and the elite performance required to earn access into in-season Signature Events.” It will also launch a reward challenge programme as well as a new section called “Better Decision Breakdowns”, which will use emerging technology to provide real-time analysis of player decisions.

Tyler Dennis, Chief Competitions Officer, PGA Tour, commented:

We view the Aon Next 10 and Aon Swing 5 as an opportunity to further innovate around our reimagined schedule. Further defining these paths has provided the best players in the world more opportunities to go head-to-head, engaging fans in new ways and creating additional consequences in our Full-Field Events.

Andy Weitz, Chief Marketing Officer, Aon, added:

Aon is committed to continuous innovation on behalf of clients and partners, and that mindset extends to our sports marketing strategy. These new programs are designed to further enhance the fan experience by offering insights into how players make real-time decisions on the course and how those better decisions translate into opportunities to compete at the highest level on the PGA TOUR.

We’re grateful to our partners at the TOUR, CBS and NBC, as well as global partners like Sky Sports that leverage the international broadcast feed, for their leadership in exploring new ways that we can bring more real-time analytics and compelling storytelling to the live broadcast.

Brian Oliver, Executive Vice President — Corporate Partnerships, stated:

Better Decision Breakdown segments will provide fans a window into how the best players in the world make better decisions when it matters most. Leveraging new technology, production teams will be able to deliver real-time insights including strokes gained analysis, model-based shot dispersion, accuracy depictions, expected outcomes and more.

We could not be more excited to have Aon woven into our reimagined schedule, which creates consistent excitement for our fans. Aon’s innovative approach to partnership will bring new real-time insights into each broadcast and create more engagement opportunities for fans as they track the performance of their favourite players.
