British Band Coldplay to feature on the Barça home kit

Spotify have released a new Barcelona home kit with British band Coldplay’s logo to feature on the front of their home jersey. The logo on the jersey is inspired by their latest album ‘Moon Music’. 

This particular matchday kit has been designed for two special encounters. The Men’s First Team will wear this matchday kit in the highly anticipated ‘El Clásico’ clash with Real Madrid on 26th October, 2024 away at the Santiago Bernabéu and Barcelona Femeni will wear it when playing Eibar at home in Liga F on 2nd November, 2024.

In addition, two exclusive editions of the match jersey will be available for purchase from 18th October at Barça Stores and via the club’s e-commerce platform. 

One of the limited editions will consist of 1,899 units of the match-quality jersey featuring the Moon Music Coldplay logo. 

The second even more exclusive edition, will feature a ‘glow in the dark’ Coldplay logo and will also be signed by the starting players from both matches—the Clásico and the Liga F game. Though, this edition will only consist of 22 units of the match-quality jersey.

FC Barcelona, Spotify, and Coldplay will also release a lifestyle clothing line on 18th October,2024 which will be available in Barça Stores and the club’s e-commerce site. The co-branded merchandise will feature items such as t-shirts, hoodies and scarfs.

Speaking about their logo on the Barcelona jersey, Coldplay said: 

We’re honoured that Spotify has chosen to feature our Moon Music design on the shirt of FC Barcelona. We’ve had a special relationship with the city and the club for many years. We’re also proud to support the UNHCR in their life-saving work to protect refugees and displaced people around the world. Heartfelt thanks to Spotify and FC Barcelona for making this happen.”

Speaking on this collaboration, VP Marketing at Barcelona, Juli Guiu commented: 

We are delighted that through our partnership with Spotify, that Coldplay will feature on the FC Barcelona shirt for El Clasico. The band and the club have a mutual love which stretches back many years from the band visiting training sessions, to Barca players watching Coldplay live in Barcelona over the years, to the band’s music soundtracking some of the club’s best moments.”

Speaking on the collaboration, Spotify’s Vice President – Partnerships and Marketing, Marc Hazan said:

We are thrilled to celebrate that history with fans worldwide through the iconic Barça jersey.
