Colombia have already qualified for the knockout stage of the World Cup following their two wins in their first two games and will look to take things easy in their final game. However, that is not the case for Portugal who will be looking to win this game and finish as group winners rather than finishing second in their group which makes it a very interesting sub-plot.

Here is our Preview and Predictions for the game.

FIFA WC26 | Group K: COL vs POR | 05:00 IST, 28 June, 2026

Colombia have secured qualification, but coach Nestor Lorenzo will not risk taking it all easy as he will like to ensure that his side finish at the top of the group come the end of this fixture as it gives them a potentially favourable side of the draw which helps their chances of making a deeper run in the competition.

Los Cafeteros have been good value for their performances, especially against DR Congo, where they were not deterred by the low-block of their opponents and continued to take the attack to them until they eventually found the goal that they were looking for to tke the win and the 3 points.

Luis Diaz was magnificent in that game and was very unfortunate to see both his goals be ruled out for what were very marginal offside calls. He will look to set the record straight against Portugal, getting into form at just the right time for his side.

Portugal bounced back from their frustrating draw against Congo courtesy of an emphatic 5-0 trouncing of Uzbekistan where you could see the team playing with a sync and cohesion that was absent in the first game.

Cristiano Ronaldo bounced back in emphatic fashion after being the butt of jokes following his abysmal performance in the first game. His brace not only set Portugal up nicely, but also made him the only man to score in 6 World Cups as well. The rest of the attackers chipped in with goals and assists and they are shaping up rather nicely to put their best foot forward in the knockout stages.

Both sides have a clean bill of health in terms of personnel, with no side having any injury or suspension problems, which means that both teams would be putting out full-strength sides to put forward what will hopefully be a game full of goals and excitement.

Despite Colombia currently on top of the group and putting in some good performances of their own, we believe that Portugal will definitely be the favourites entering into this game and will secure the victory that is needed to take them to the top of the group. Expect Cristiano Ronaldo to be amongst the goals once again.

Score Predictions: Colombia 1-3 Portugal
