ESL FACEIT Group’s (EFG) leading competitive games and esports company brand, DreamHack Sports, Games (DHSG) and the Netherlands’ top tier of professional football, the Eredivisie, have teamed up to announce the launch of the KPN eDivisie Cup — an upcoming FIFA 23 fan tournament. EA Sports, KPN and PlayStation will also be teaming up for this upcoming venture.

All Dutch FIFA players will stand a chance to compete via the PlayStation 4 and win the title. The tournament will have five online events and two offline events at the KPN eDivisie Arena.

The schedule for the online and offline events is as follows:

Online events (Played on the PlayStation 4)

  • January 18: Online Qualifier
  • January 25: Online Qualifier
  • February 1: Online Qualifier
  • February 8: Online Qualifier
  • February 15: Club Playoffs

Offline events (Played on the PlayStation 5)

  • February 22: Club Championships (Played at the H20 Studio, Purmerend)
  • TBA: Finals

Four of the winners from the online qualifiers along with the 18 Eredivisie clubs who will be represented in the tournament will fight for the championship and win a total prize pool of €2,000. The winner will also have a spot in the pre-selection of E_Oranje, the Netherlands’ national e-football team, and a traineeship or visit to their favourite KPN eDivisie club.

Roger Lodewick, President Sports Games at ESL FACEIT Group, commented:

Every Tuesday, the Dutch EA SPORTS™ FIFA 23 community gets to see the best Dutch FIFA 23 players in The Netherlands. Now that same community has the opportunity to compete for eternal glory on a national stage and showcase their skills in the KPN eDivisie Cup and put themselves in the spotlight of the KPN eDivisie clubs for future seasons. We’re thrilled to be doing this together with the Eredivisie, our long-term partner KPN and leading game platform Playstation as it shows the Cup’s ambition and prestigious level.
