The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the extension of its partnership with sports data firm Sportradar.
The ECB has been using Sportradar’s InteractSport live data and scoring provision since 2017, and the new extension will see the EXB continue to utilise the data till 2024. InteractSport helps the ECB develop its own suite applications, which provide insights, content, stats of both English and Welsh matches and the match results as well.
Alison Crowe, Director of Digital & Data, ECB, commented:
“Our partnership with Sportradar enables us to deliver a quality experience to our recreational participants and fans through world-class technology.
“With an ever-increasing number of participants across England and Wales, we’re looking to inspire the next generation to share their passion.”
Sam Taylor, Managing Director at InteractSport, added:
“Sportradar is committed to supporting the growth of cricket at all levels.
“We believe the ongoing embedding of our digital solutions will enable the ECB to facilitate a closer connection with and relationship between recreational players. It will also add a new dimension to their engagement with the sport they love to play and watch.”
InteractSport has also worked with the ECB to launch the Countdown Cricket app, which is focused on helping the development of grassroots cricket. The app helps teachers, junior coaches and parents to organise and score matches at a faster and more user-friendly way.
