ESL announces dates for IEM Brazil 2023

ESL has announced the qualifier and main event dates of the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Brazil 2023. Following the tremendous fan response from last season’s IEM Rio Major 2022, ESL had stated that it will return with an event in Brazil in 2023.

IEM Brazil 2023 will be held between April 17–23, 2023, in place of the IEM Spring and will have 16 teams battling out for the US$250,000 prize pool. The tournament will also be part of the Intel Grand Slam.

ESL has also released the dates for the open and closed qualifiers for IEM Brazil, which will see five teams from four regions (Europe, North America, South America and Asia) qualify along with the 11 ESL-invited teams. 

The qualifiers will start from January 21 and last till February 16 and will be played on ESEA. Two spots will be reserved for the European teams, while North America, South America and Asia will have one spot each.

The schedule for the qualifiers is as follows:

European Open Qualifier #1: January 27–28

European Open Qualifier #2: January 30–31

European Closed Qualifier: February 8–10

North American Open Qualifier #1: January 26–27

North American Open Qualifier #2: February 11–12

North American Closed Qualifier: February 15–16

South American Open Qualifier #1: January 26–27

South American Open Qualifier #2: February 11–12

South American Closed Qualifier: February 15–16

Asia Open Qualifier #1: January 21–22

Asia Open Qualifier #2: January 23–24

Asia Closed Qualifier: January 26–27
