Saudi Arabia’s Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has inked a new multi-year partnership with Japanese technology and media conglomerate Sony Group Corporation. The deal will see Sony’s subsidiaries work with the EWCF for the upcoming Esports World Cup, later on this year. Sony will be joining as a Founding Partner of the Esports World Cup.
The agreement will have Sony Pictures Entertainment work on creating behind-the-scenes documentary series while Sony Interactive Entertainment will work on helping the creators and talent in the region. Sony Music Entertainment will be producing the music anthem for the World Cup.
Ralf Reichert, chief executive of the Esports World Cup Foundation, commented,
“Our goal is to establish a global platform for esports and gaming that sets new standards for live esports events. Sony’s experience in creating stunning visuals, engaging music, compelling storytelling, and state-of-the-art technology will be a game-changer for the Esports World Cup.”
