Another feather in the decorated cap for the British champion

Seven-time world champion and one of Formula One’s greatest, Lewis Hamilton has added another feather to his cap, this time off the track, as he has been announced as the co-chair of the prestigious fashion event, the Met Gala for the 2025 edition.

Hamilton will be joining musicians Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, actor Colman Domingo, basketball icon LeBron James and fashion mogul Anna Wintour who have been revealed as his fellow chairman with Hames holding the title of honorary chairman.

A regular at the Met Gala, Hamilton made his debut appearance at the Met Gala in 2015 and has been a fashion trendsetter on the grid as well.

The Met Gala 2025 is set to be held on May 5, 2025 with the theme of Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. The Met Gala’s date for the 2025 edition is one day after the conclusion of the Miami Grand Prix 2025, with Hamilton set to don the Scarlet Red for Ferrari from the next season onwards and will partner Charles Leclerc.

Lewis Hamilton, spoke about the honour, stating,

“Firstly, it’s a real honour and privilege and something that I’ve been working on for a long, long time to get into that position. Just getting to go to the Met Gala was always something really special. Having seen the hosts before, I remember I would look on and think ‘it would be cool one day to be a host’. Anna’s been so gracious as to include me within that group. It is such a prestigious event, but one thing showed that it can be a great event and also have a positive impact.

‘She’s (Anna Wintour) brought me on board and that’s what we’re doing on a bigger scale now moving forwards, so I’m really grateful to be part of that.”
