Harmanpreet Kaur, a 2017 Arjuna Award recipient, leads the India senior women’s national cricket team across all formats. An all-rounder, she made her debut for the national team in 2006. 

In February 2023, Kaur was sold for a whopping ?1.8 crore to the Mumbai Indians in the inaugural Women’s Premier League auction.

Kaur was born in Moga, Punjab, on March 8, 1989. After enrolling in the Gian Jyoti School Academy, which is 30 kilometres from her home, she began playing cricket. In 2014, she went to Mumbai, where she worked for the Indian Railways. Virender Sehwag served as an inspiration for Kaur growing up, and when she started practising the sport, her father served as her first coach.

Kaur became the first Indian cricketer to have ever been signed by a franchise cricket team in June 2016, when she was picked up by Big Bash League (BBL) side Sydney Thunder. She also holds the record for India’s highest-ever individual score at a Women’s ODI World Cup. After Mithali Raj, Kaur was the second Indian batter to rank in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Top 10 Women’s ODI Player Rankings in July 2017. She was also selected as one of the players for the ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Year in December 2017. 

Kaur was chosen by Manchester Originals in 2021 to participate in The Hundred’s inaugural season. She was signed by the Melbourne Renegades in September 2021 for the 2021–22 women’s BBL season.

Hapipola

In February 2023, Kaur became Chennai-based audio electronic products brand Hapipola’s latest brand ambassador. According to the company, Kaur is the ideal representation of the company’s vision, which blends technology and style. 

PUMA

In January 2023, German sportswear and sports equipment brand PUMA unveiled Kaur as its newest brand ambassador. As per the terms of the collaboration, Kaur is to promote the brand’s footwear, clothing and accessories all year long. Prior to this agreement, she had also collaborated with PUMA’s American rival brand, Nike.

Boost Energy

Kaur has been a brand ambassador for Boost Energy, one of India’s most popular health drink brands, since 2020. Through her social media channels, she actively promotes the brand. She also participates in campaigns that aim to spread awareness about girls playing cricket and inspire young people to pursue their passions in sports.

B Natural

Since 2018, Kaur has been associated with fruit beverage firm B Natural. Through her social media announcements, Kaur hopes to inspire people to live an active lifestyle by encouraging them to sip on B natural’s fresh juice products without hesitating.

str8bat

The pocket-sized, lightweight cricket bat sensor offered by str8bat provides one with immediate, visible and actionable feedback regarding their batting. In 2019, Kaur collaborated with this Singapore-based cricket tech company, which she continues to actively promote.

CEAT

Kaur and Mumbai-based Indian multinational tyre manufacturing company CEAT agreed upon an initial two-year contract in January 2018. With this agreement, Kaur became the first female cricketer to be linked with CEAT and seen playing in across formats of the game with a bat featuring the CEAT logo.

WTF Sports

In August 2020, fantasy sports gaming platform WTF Sports formally announced its launch and named Kaur as one of its brand ambassadors. 

MyMaster11

MyMaster11, an India-based operator of online fantasy sports gaming, announced its partnership with Kaur in 2022. Fantasy games for cricket, football, kabaddi, volleyball, basketball and hockey matches are available through MyMaster11’s services, features, programmes and contests.

Glow & Lovely

In 2020, Kaur was appointed as a Glow & Lovely brand ambassador. 

Zee5

In 2020, Kaur became a brand ambassador for Zee5 — the OTT offering of Zee Entertainment Enterprises.

Zebronics

Zebronics, an Indian brand that specialises in audio, IT & gaming peripherals, mobile/lifestyle accessories, power solutions, healthcare and surveillance solutions, teamed up with Kaur in 2019.

ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank is a Mumbai-based multinational bank and provider of financial services. In 2022, it paired up with Kaur, who, as per the agreement with ICICI, frequently features across its ad campaigns.

Godrej & Boyce

Operating since 1897, Vikhroli, Mumbai-based, multi-industry-operating Godrej & Boyce celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2022, part of which included on-boarding Kaur as a brand ambassador, which the cricketer announced herself via social media.

Blenders Pride Fashion Tour

Kaur featured on the runway of a fashion show in Kolkata on November 19, 2022. She collaborated with designing firm S&N By Shantanu And Nikhil to present its collection, which celebrated the Indian cricketing spirit, at the Blenders Pride Glassware Fashion Tour’s Kolkata Chapter.
