Two teams looking to string together a couple of wins

The action doesn’t stop, whether it’s Sunday or Monday, there is continuous action at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. We have just the one game today for you and it’s Bangladesh taking on South Africa in what promises to be a thrilling encounter between two promising teams.

Here’s our prediction for the game.

Match 21: Bangladesh vs South Africa | 20:00 IST, June 10

Both South Africa and Bangladesh come into this back off important wins over Sri Lanka and Netherlands respectively. Playing on the tricky New York pitch, South Africa’s bowling line up will have a slight edge with the likes of Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Ottneil Baartman looking forward to extracting as much as they can. What works in Bangladesh’s favour though is that their bowling lineup was clinical against Sri Lanka and Mustafizur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed bring a lot of experience to the table and young Rishad Hossain had a strong outing as well.

The Proteas haven’t clicked with the bat yet and apart from Tristan Stubbs and David Miller’s contributions against Netherland, there isn’t much to go by. That is where Bangladesh should look to attack and if they get a couple of early wickets they can restrict the Proteas to a low total. It goes the same way for Bangladesh as well, who struggled to chase 124 against Sri Lanka and the match will eventually come down to who reads and bats better on a pitch which isn’t suited for batting.

Given the talent and experience in the team, South Africa holds a slight edge over Bangladesh but expect another low-scoring thriller.

Fantasy XI: Quinton de Kock, Litton Das, Soumya Sarkar Tristan Stubbs, David Miller, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmadullah, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ottneil Baartman, Mustafizur Rahman

Venue: New York, USA

Winner Prediction: South Africa
