Two teams struggling to find consistency early in the tournament go up against each other in Match 11 of the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, with New Zealand taking on Bangladesh in Guwahati.

While the Bangla Tigresses went down to England after a win in their first game, Sophie Devine & Co are yet to get off the mark and will be looking to finally put some points on the board.

For this game, here are our preview and predictions.

ICC Women’s CWC 2025 | Match 11: NZ vs BAN | 15:00 IST, October 10

Bangladesh started their campaign with a stunning win over Pakistan, taking down their fellow Asian counterparts by seven wickets before going down fighting to England in game two.

Bangladesh’s biggest positive from their first two games has been their bowling. Marufa Akter has been leading from the front, while spinners Nishita Akter, Nahida Akter, Fahima Khatun, and Shorna Akter have been stellar as well, having picked up 11 of the 16 wickets Bangladesh have taken in total while being extremely economical. Khatun has been using all her experience and making the most of the Guwahati strip; she will be key for her team again.

However, batting is one aspect where Nigar Sultana & Co have been struggling. The top order has failed to get going; barring Rubya Haider’s 54 against Pakistan and Sobhana Mostary’s 60 against England, there have been few meaningful contributions. At Guwahati, in conditions closer to home, Sultana will expect more from her batters.

New Zealand, on the other hand, have suffered two losses from as many games and have their backs against the wall. Like Bangladesh, the Kiwis have also been struggling with the bat. Against South Africa, most of their experienced top order got starts, but none were able to register a big score. Suzie Bates, one of their star batters and most experienced players, has been having a horror show with two ducks in as many games. Their bowling has been strong, though, with the Kerr sisters, Sophie Devine, and Lea Tahuhu using all their experience and might to make the most of the sluggish conditions.

Spinners have been thriving in Guwahati this World Cup. With two teams with strong bowling attacks, expect not too many runs and some strong bowling figures. Although they have lost both their games, New Zealand come in as the favourites here, given the experience and talent in their squad. We back them to get their World Cup campaign going.

Fantasy XI: Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr (c), Sophie Devine (vc), Nigar Sultana, Sobhana Mostary, Izzy Gaze (wk), Marufa Akter, Fahima Khatun, Jess Kerr, Nishita Akter Nishi, Lea Tahuhu

Venue: Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati
Winners Prediction: New Zealand
