Leaving behind nothing but Dust – Mercedes' Dominant run in the F1 Championships

Staff Staff

There have been many good Formula One teams in the past and some legendary drivers who have helped their team to win countless trophies. Ferrari is arguably one of the best car companies to participate in the F1 Championships and have the most formula one championship wins. But now, there is a new Champion in the fray as German company Mercedes have come up and produced some top-level engineering and made a brilliantly contrived race car which is not looking to be beaten anytime soon.

With Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas as their two drivers, Mercedes have won 6 consecutive Championship titles and are all set to even bring the 7th one home. Their main man Lewis Hamilton is also on the verge of winning his 7th driver’s title for the company. With seven races of the 2020 F1 Championship already over, Mercedes have a 106-point lead over Red Bull Racing, and Lewis Hamilton sits comfortably on top with teammate Bottas claiming the second spot. Their nearest competitor is Red Bull Racing’s young driver, Max Verstappen, who is a full race win behind second-placed Bottas.

This type of dominance can only be possible with the help of world-class drivers and a world-class car. The German automakers-Mercedes have accomplished this by providing both the drivers the Mercedes AMG F1 W10 EQ Power+. This state of the art Formula 1 car can even hit almost a 1000 horsepower. To have a consistent team, you should have to be the one who makes the least mistakes as even a blunder in the engineering department can cause the whole season to be full of little malfunctions from time to time.

Mercedes have found the right rhythm for them and are not looking like they are the ones to stop at the moment. With Lewis Hamilton looking to equal Michael Schumacher’s record of 7 driver titles, there is no lack of motivation in the camp this year as well. The only thing that can probably cost them the title is a unpredicted mistake by anyone in the team, which is rare in an experienced and well-oiled squad they’ve got at Mercedes at the moment. This brutal dominance is looking to continue for years to come.
