Toyota’s luxury car brand Lexus has announced a partnership with the governing body for tennis in the UK — the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). The multi-year partnership sees Lexus join as the Official Automotive Partner and the Official Performance Partner of the LTA.

Lexus will be gaining naming rights for the LTA’s Great Britain national teams — from junior domestic competitions to major LTA events and national teams. All teams taking part in the World Team Cup, the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup will now be known as the Lexus Great Britain teams.

Lexus will also gain naming rights for the Trophy Series, the Pro Series, the British Tour, the National Junior Tour as well as the National Junior Championships, the Junior Internationals, and the Wheelchair Tennis National Finals.

Lexus will be providing vehicles at the LTA’s Summer Series events such as the Trophy Series and the Pro Series. Britain’s largest public tennis centre, the Nottingham Tennis Centre, will also be known as the Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre under the terms of the agreement.

Scott Lloyd, LTA Chief Executive, commented:

As the governing body of tennis in Great Britain, the LTA’s mission is to open up tennis and grow the game at a grassroots level as well as to support the development of talented players to the top of the game. This is a significant partnership that incorporates many areas of our performance development as well as engaging fans and participants. We’re delighted to have Lexus on board and look forward to kicking off the British grass-court season on Sunday at the Lexus Surbiton Trophy.

Chris Hayes, Director of Lexus in the UK said:

We’re honoured to be partnering with such a prestigious organisation to help foster up-and-coming British tennis talent and provide a clear pathway to future competition success while showcasing the excitement and energy of the sport.
