Medvedev unveils new logo at Australian Open with Lacoste

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev has announced a new partnership with French apparel company Lacoste to launch his own logo. Medvedev will be teaming up with Lacoste to also launch his own co-branded collection.

Medvedev debuted the logo at the 2023 Australian Open during his opening match against Marcos Giron, which he won in straight-sets. Starting from the Australian Open, Medvedev’s kit will have his new logo, including his shoes and racquet. 

Medvedev’s logo is inspired by “the codes of gaming”. Lacoste states that it characterises with the player’s character both on and off the court. The logo is in the shape of a gaming controller, with the four parts including a “D” on the left and an “M” on the right, which is a nod to the Russian’s initials. Right below are two lines, symbolising the two “I”s in Medvedev’s first name. The top has a circular icon, which represents a tennis ball. Below the controller-shaped design, Medvedev’s name is written as “Danii M”.

The logo will be present on a co-branded collection, which will be available at Lacoste stores. 

Speaking about the new collaboration, Medvedev stated:

My partnership with Lacoste is special. I consider them family. To have this special line with Lacoste is not only exciting, it speaks for the business relationship we have. It already started some years ago when Lacoste asked me to help bring a tennis shoe to the market, which we very successfully accomplished together. To now put this special Daniil M line/logo on my clothes makes me very happy and I hope to see many fans wear these products.

This new logo on this dedicated collection is a real pride for me. It’s the first time a partner has offered it to me. It was a real team effort with the Lacoste creative studio. It perfectly reflects all my passions: tennis with the circle, for example, which evokes the tennis ball and gaming. I hope that this personalised logo on my clothing line will bring me success for the 2023 season. It will also be an extra pressure, but I really have the ambition to deliver better tennis this season with the new customised silhouettes.

Lacoste has served as Medvedev’s apparel sponsor since 2019.
