MPL rope in YouTube sensation Amit Bhadana as Brand Ambassador

Staff Staff

YouTube star Amit Bhadana has been roped in as a brand ambassador for the Mobile Premier League (MPL), an online gaming platform for India, and is one of the largest E-sports platforms. Gaming has been observed as a rising trend in recent years. According to research by Sensor Tower, it has also been found that Indians have been downloading a lot of gaming apps across the nation, which was estimated to almost 7.3 billion games that have been downloaded so far. This accounts for 17% of the world’s downloads, which is a pretty amazing statistic to look at.

To increase their reach in the youth even further, MPL has decided to link up with these influencers who have a lot of effect on India’s young generation. Speaking about this deal, Senior VP, growth, and marketing of MPL said, “YouTube is a big focus area for our branding initiatives. A large part of our target group is active on YouTube, we have seen good traction on our app via the channel,”. With almost 22 million subscribers to his channel, Amit Bhadana has been signed along with some other YouTube stars like Ashish Chanchlani and Elvish Yadav on board to launch marketing initiatives. They have been linked with cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Tammannah Bhatia in the past and are now looking for young influencers for their brand awareness.

Earlier this year, the ASCI, i.e., the Advertising Standards Council of India has issued some guidelines about the gaming industry, which does not allow any child under 18 years of age to be shown as a gamer getting monetary funds from the game. These guidelines will be effective from December 15 and include the rule which says no game with monetary funds available can be portrayed as a legal occupation.
