RCB captains Faf du Plessis and Smriti Mandhana, alongside star batter Virat Kohli, were at the “RCB Unbox 2024” event held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where they unveiled the new men’s team jersey ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

The franchise also unveiled their new name and logo. They will officially be known as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru going forward.

The Mandhana-led women’s team, having clinched the 2024 Women’s Premier League crown earlier this week, were also present for the occasion as they received a special guard of honour from the men’s team amidst huge applause from the fans.

Former Team India and RCB pacer R Vinay Kumar was also inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame as he joined the likes of AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle. Vinay Kumar is the third-highest wicket taker in RCB history.

The Royal Challengers men’s team are scheduled to kickstart their IPL 2024 campaign on Friday against last year’s winners, the Chennai Super Kings.
