Match 67 of the 2022 TATA Indian Premier League brings us live action from the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the clash between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Gujarat Titans.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently placed fifth with seven wins and six defeats from their thirteen games. Their playoff chances were given a huge blow when they lost their previous game against the Punjab Kings by 54 runs. As things stand, they have to win their game against the Gujarat Titans and ensure that the Delhi Capitals fail to register a win in their last game. A win for the Capitals will take them to sixteen points too however RCB’s net run rate being in negative may prevent them from making it to the top 4.

That being said, the Gujarat Titans are placed top of the table with 10 wins and just three defeats in their thirteen games. They enjoyed a thumping victory against the Chennai Super Kings in their previous encounter by 7 wickets. As things stand, the Titans have already made it to the playoffs and are in the driver’s seat for a top 2 finish. For Hardik Pandya and his men, they are the favourites to clinch this year’s trophy given the position and form they are in.

Pitch Report

The previous two matches played at the Wankhede stadium between the Mumbai Indians against the Chennai Super Kings and the Chennai Super kings against the Gujarat Titans went completely in favour of the team bowling first as the match was worn by the team chasing both being low scoring games. The pitch at the Wankhede on any normal day supports the batsmen, however the captain winning the toss will keep the track record in mind and looking to restrict the opponent to a reasonable total worth chasing down. The Toss shall be an important determinant of the game.

Batter to watch out forWriddhiman Saha

Wriddhiman Saha has repaid the faith shown by the coaching staff as he has been in top notch form since his return to the starting 11. Originally picked as a replacement for Matthew Wade who was out of form, Saha has led the GT to marvellous starts in the powerplay and also been a crucial factor behind the stumps. He has scored 281 runs in 8 innings with an average of 40 and will be looking to carry forward this form to the upcoming games and also onto the playoffs.

Bowler to watch out forWanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasaranga is enjoying his IPL campaign so far and has quickly moved to number 2 in the Purple Cap Holders list. He has picked up 23 wickets in 12 games and is just one wicket behind the ex RCB veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Hasaranga will be looking to guide his team to the playoffs by dismantling the Gujarat Titans batting order and also move to the number one place in the Purple Cap Holders list. Ensure that he is in your fantasy teams.

RCB vs GT – Fantasy XI

W Saha, Dinesh Karthik, Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli ( c ), Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Hardik Pandya ( vc ), Glenn Maxwell, W Hasaranga, Rashid Khan, Harshal Patel.

RCB vs GT – Match Prediction

RCB will be desperate for a victory in order to make it to the playoffs. The Gujarat Titans on the other hand will be playing to carry forward their winning momentum on to the playoffs. It is a crucial match for both the teams, but for RCB it’s a matter of life and death. They have a well balanced and experienced team capable of playing in such circumstances and we fancy them to emerge victorious and be at their best on Thursday night.
