Match 60 of the 2022 TATA Indian Premier League brings us live action from the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai for the clash between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Punjab Kings.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore lie fourth in the table with seven wins and five defeats from their twelve games. They need to win their remaining two games in order to confirm their place in the Playoffs irrespective of the other results going their way or not. They are coming into this game off the back of a crucial win against the SunRisers Hyderabad, having beaten them by 67 runs.
The Punjab Kings, on the other hand, lie eight in the table with five wins and six defeats from their eleven games. A Playoff place seems unlikely as the Kings have to win their remaining games with a huge margin to improve their Net Run Rate and also hope some of the results of the other games go their way. Their previous-game defeat by six wickets against the Rajasthan Royals cost them two crucial points. Winning is now mandatory for them, and they will be looking for nothing less than the two points on offer against the RCB in Match 60.
The previous game played at the Brabourne stadium proved to be a high-scoring affair between the Mumbai Indians and the Gujarat Titans, as both the teams produced totals north of 170 in their respective innings. The Titans, batting second, fell short of the target of 178 set by the MI by six runs. However, the main takeaway from the game is the belter of a wicket the batters get to play their strokes on, and I predict a 190+ total for the team batting first.

Batter to watch out for: Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik is enjoying his time with the RCB and has proved to be one of the fiercest finishers for them in the death overs. A batter in the death overs and handling the middle-order batting is what Bangalore had been searching for all these years, and I believe Dinesh Karthik is the answer to their problems. The former KKR captain has scored 274 runs so far at a Strike Rate of 200. He scored 30 runs off 8 balls in his previous game. If given a chance, he may go on to produce another blistering knock in Match 60.
Bowler to watch out for: Wanindu Hasaranga
Wanindu Hasaranga may have come in as a replacement for Yuzvendra Chahal, but one can safely say that he is having a great campaign so far. He has picked up 21 wickets in his 12 games and is just two behind the former RCB spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the race for the Purple Cap. He will be looking to build on his consistent performances in the coming games, making him my bowler to watch out for.
Dinesh Karthik, Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, Liam Livingstone (vc), Glenn Maxwell (c), Kagiso Rabada, Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga
The Punjab Kings will be looking to do the double over the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. With form on their side and a great record against the RCB, Punjab will surely be fancying their chances against them. However, the Royal Challengers have displayed great consistency and great team unity this season. I predict them to clinch the points and move one step closer to the Playoffs.
