Professional tennis players are known to have some crazy earnings especially from the massive Prize money they receive on winning a Grand Slam or any championship. Money is definitely a factor that leads to a player being even more motivated to win a certain tournament. Roger Federer is the richest sportsperson of 2020 but the ladies are not that far off as well. Let us take a look at the richest female tennis players of 2020.


Angelique Kerber – The German tennis star has had some struggles in recent times but has bagged the 9th spot in the rankings because of her impressive deal with Adidas which contributes to her $5.3 Million tournament winnings from last year. She also has lucrative sponsorship deals with Yonex, Porsche and Rolex.


Sofia Kenin – The 21-year-old American player has had a pretty successful year this time around after she won the 2020 Australian Open and reached the final of the 2020 French Open as well. She is also the youngest American to win a Grand Slams singles title after Serena Williams won it in 2002. She has a prize money total of $5.8 Million as well.


Elina Svitolina – The Ukranian International has also had a successful year as she reached the latter stages of many of the major tournaments this year. Due to her amazing performances in all of the major tournaments so far, she has also gained a career-high World no.3 ranking for herself. She earned an impressive $6.4 Million from tournaments.


Garbine Muguruza – Having won a lot of titles in the past year, it was natural that Garbine Muguruza had to be included in this list as she also has a lot of lucrative deals with brands like Evian, Adidas, Babolat, Rolex, Maui Jim, and Mazda, among others. She has earned total prize money of $1.9 Million.


Bianca Andreescu – The Canadian International has had a stand out year recently after winning the US Open in 2019. Only 20 years of age, Bianca has already got a lot of attention by the tennis world after her amazing performances. She has netted $8.9 Million including a massive sponsorship with Nike.


Simona Halep – The Romanian tennis superstar has been at the top for a while now. She won the 2020 Italian Open this time and is on the fourth spot of the list because of her massive $10.9 Million earnings from tournaments.


Ashleigh Barty – The 24-year Australian player has had an eventful campaign this time after winning the French Open last year and making the Australian Open Semifinals this time round. She is also one of the promising talents to look after who could dominate the Tennis world in the future. She has a total earning of $13.1 Million out of which she earned a record-breaking $4.4 Million after winning the WTA Finals in Shenzhen, China.


Serena Williams – The player at number 2 is not usually seen at the second spot as she is used to be winning all the time. Serena Williams is still the best female tennis player of all time without a doubt. She once again scored big with her endorsements and has a total of $32 Million earning this year.


Naomi Osaka – Having won the US Open recently, Naomi Osaka is dominating the world of tennis at the moment and is surely one of the top contenders to match the greatness of Serena in the future. She has earned a total of $37.4 Million which is mostly because of her sponsorships, which includes her being the face of the now postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
