Partnership expands initial 2020 agreement.

Riot Games has expanded and renewed its partnership with visual media firm Getty Images. The partnership renewal will see Getty Images provide image coverage of the League of Legends World Championships, Valorant Champions and Wild Rift Global Icons. Additionally, it will also distribute content for the Valorant Champions Tour Game Changes programme.

This is the first time Getty Images has delved in the Valorant and Wild Rift esports titles, and the first coverage under the new deal will be the Valorant Masters Reykjavik and the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational.

Commenting on the new partnership, John Needham, President of Esports, Riot Games, said:

As our esports lineup continues to grow, we need a partner who will support our vision of delivering premium content to our fans around the world.

Getty Images is unmatched in their expertise in the field and we are confident that our continued partnership will result in the high-quality content our communities are looking for.

Carmin Romanelli, Getty Images Global Vice President of Sports Business Development, added:

Getty Images is not only poised to support the creation, distribution, and management of relevant photo and video content but brings a wealth of expertise and resources to promote diverse representation within the esports space.

Riot and Getty Images had first worked together in 2020 when Getty Images was named as the Official Photo Image Distribution Partner of the League of Legends events. Getty Images since then has covered the LoL All-Star event, World Championships and Mid-Season Invitational events along with distributing images for the same as well.

Last year, in 2021, the two parties also collaborated to create a ‘Riot Games image gallery’ that offers assets for editorial purposes.
