Preview
Match 58 of the 2022 TATA Indian Premier League brings us live action from the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the clash between the Rajasthan Royals and the Delhi Capitals.
The Rajasthan Royals lie third in the table with seven wins and four defeats from their eleven games. They need just one more victory from their remaining three games to ensure a Playoff place. However, they will be looking for a top-two finish considering the position they are in in order to get that extra support in case they manage to lose Qualifier 1. They bounced back brilliantly in their last game as by beating the Punjab Kings by six wickets courtesy of a Yashasvi Jaiswal show (of 68 runs off 41 balls), who was back in the squad following his time out of the playing XI. The Royals will be looking for yet another victory in their next encounter to ensure their qualification to the Playoffs.
The Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, lie fifth in the table with five wins and six defeats from their eleven games. They have to win their remaining three games in order to gain a place in the top four and have to be at their very best in each of them. Things would have been easier for the Capitals had they not fallen prey to the Chennai Super Kings in their previous encounter. They got bowled out for 117 runs and lost the match by 91 runs, which has further worsened their Net Run Rate. They have to quickly turn things around and win their remaining games in order to move within the top four.

Pitch Report
The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium is a belter for the batters, and the previous game played at the venue between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the SunRisers Hyderabad landed in the former producing a gigantic total of 196 runs batting first and then bowling the latter out for just 125. Keeping this in mind, I expect the team winning the toss to bat first and put up a huge total on board in order to create pressure on their opponents.

Head-to-Head

Last 5 games: Delhi Capitals: 3 | Rajasthan Royals: 2
Batter to watch out for: Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the starting XI in the last match, and he returned with a great knock in his home ground against the Punjab Kings, scoring 68 runs off 41 balls. Form was a concern for Jaiswal, which led to him being dropped by the Royals as he managed to score just 25 runs in his three games prior to the last game. However, he will be fancying himself to display another marvellous performance considering his previous innings, and I predict Jaiswal to be the batter to watch out for in Game 58.
Bowler to watch out for: Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav has been marvellous this campaign and has picked up 18 wickets so far. He will surely be eyeing a return to the Team India setup after his performances in this year’s IPL. I fancy him to display yet another consistent performance at the Wankhede and be amongst the wicket-takers, making him my bowler to watch out for in Game 58.
Fantasy XI
Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler (c), Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, David Warner (vc), Devdutt Padikkal, Mitchell Marsh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Anrich Nortje
Match Prediction
This is a tough call to make, as both teams are balanced on paper and share a neck-to-neck record against each other. Both are filled with hunger and intent to win and clinch the two points crucial for the Playoffs. However, I predict the Rajasthan Royals to emerge victorious considering the form they have shown this season.
