Valve has announced DotA 2’s largest annual esports tournament. The International will have its 11th edition held in Singapore.

Heading to Singapore means The International will be held in Asia for the second time, after the 9th edition of The International was previously held in Asia when Shanghai played host.

The tournament is set to take place in October 2022 at the Suntec Arena and Indoor Stadium. Singapore is no stranger to DotA 2 tournaments, having held the ONE E-Sports DotA 2 Singapore Major at the Fairmont Singapore in March 2021.

The previous edition, The International 10, was delayed due to the COVID pandemic, and after being originally scheduled to be held in Stockholm, it was held eventually in Romania behind closed doors.

The International 10 was reported to have been the most-watched DotA 2 event in history, with a total of 2.7 million peak viewers in the final between PSG.LGD and Team Spirit.

The 2022 Stockholm Major recently concluded, with Team OG taking the crown following their triumph over TSM in the grand finals.

Additional details about the tournament will be released later on following the conclusion of the Airlington Major in August and Summer Tour.
