Day 6 of UEFA Euro 2024 provided some more thrilling encounters for neutral fans. The day began with Scotland’s gritty draw against Switzerland. Slovenia continued to impress as they finished level with Serbia, while England were unable to beat Denmark in the final encounter of the day.

Euro 2024 Match 15: Switzerland 1-1 Scotland

Not many would’ve expected Scotland to come up with a performance against Switzerland, particularly after their thrashing against Germany. However, after a strong start from Andy Robertson and Co, they managed to sneak ahead through an onrushing Scott McTominay, who netted from within the penalty area aided by a deflection from Fabian Schär. However, the Swiss managed to fight back and equalised through Xherdan Shaqiri 13 minutes later after the former Liverpool FC man pounced upon a poor back pass.

Overall, the Granit Xhaka-led side edged possession stats (53%) and took 11 shots, out of which four found the target, while Scotland attempted 12 shots, from which three tested Yann Sommer.

Scotland will need to win their remaining match against Hungary to stand a chance of qualifying for the Round of 16.

Euro 2024 Match 16: Slovenia 1-1 Serbia

Slovenia and Serbia’s draw was certainly the game of the evening and produced several moments for the neutrals.

Despite a goalless first half, both teams shelled opportunities to take the lead in what was a fairly open contest. The trend continued as we moved into the second period, and it was Slovenia who went ahead through Žan Karnicnik in the 69th minute. Although they managed to keep the Serbians out for a while, Luka Jovic turned up for his team in what was the final kick of the ball, heading home an expertly delivered corner in stoppage time to score his dramatic equaliser.

Serbia had more of the ball (61%) and took 15 shots, four more than Slovenia, while both teams found the target with their attempts on four occasions each.

Euro 2024 Match 17: Denmark 1-1 England

England were disappointing yet again as they managed a 1-1 draw against Denmark in their latest match. The Three Lions went ahead through Harry Kane’s close-range goal which came from a scrappy situation within the box in the 18th minute. However, the strike from the FC Bayern Munich man was cancelled out by a wonderful long-range shot fired by Morten Hjulmand in the 34th minute. Gareth Southgate and Co did not threaten the Danes in the second half, and Denmark looked like the side who were the ones more disappointed in not walking away with three points.

Denmark enjoyed 51% of the ball in this match and took 16 shots, four more than what England managed. They also tested Jordan Pickford seven times, while England managed four shots on target.
