Tata Motors extends Tata Open Maharashtra partnership

Indian global automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has bolstered its long-standing commitment to tennis in India by extending the landmark association with Tata Open Maharashtra as the title sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. South Asia’s only ATP 250 is set to kick off on December 31, 2022, in Pune. The company has announced that its iconic flagship SUV, the all-new Tata Safari, will be the Official Partner for Tata Open Maharashtra.

The tournament has brought some of world’s biggest stars such as Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka, Carlos Moya to India in the past. This year 2014 US Open champion Marin ?ili? will headline the highly competitive field, which is featuring 17 top-100 players. Driven by the core principles of “Sportification of India”, Tata Motors’ association with one of India’s oldest sporting events will continue to play a crucial role in promoting the sport.

Sanjay Khandare, Treasurer of Tata Open Maharashtra, who is also an IAS officer, commented,

The company has been at the forefront of India’s mobility revolution for more than 75 years and continues to offer an extensive range of smart, sustainable and integrated mobility solutions, a diverse portfolio that includes cars, sports utility vehicles, trucks, buses and defence vehicles.

Tata Open Maharashtra, owned by IMG and managed by RISE Worldwide, will be conducted at the Balewadi Stadium by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) in association with the Government of Maharashtra.

The partnership, which began after the prestigious tournament shifted to Pune from Chennai in 2018, has grown immensely ever since. Tata Open Maharashtra has returned to the opening week of the calendar as the qualifiers will begin on December 31, 2022, while the main draw will take place from January 2-7, 2023.
