Vettel to drive his famous RB7

Sebastian Vettel will be driving his championship-winning RB7 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife during the Red Bull Nürburgring show in September later this year.

Vettel will be joined by his former Red Bull teammate and current Red Bull reserve and third driver, Daniel Ricciardo, who will be driving the RB8.

The Red Bull Formula Nürburgring will be held on September 9, 2023, and will be a part of the Nürburgring 12 Hours weekend. It will also be the first official F1 demonstration laps on the circuit since 2012. Michael Schumacher was the one who last completed a demonstration lap on the circuit back in 2013 with Mercedes.

Speaking about returning to Nürburgring, Vettel said:

The myth of the Nordschleife resonated, even if we ‘only’ drove the GP track at the time. In any case, it will be great fun to drive my RB7 – fuelled with e-fuel – on the Nordschleife as part of a show run.

Motorsport is my passion. It’s important to me to show that racing cars can run just as well and quickly with synthetic CO2-neutral fuel. And that is already today!

The RB7 is one of Vettel’s most dominant cars, with the German having won his second World Drivers’ Title with it in 2011, scoring 11 wins and winning the season by a massive 120 points. Vettel will be running the RB7 on e-fuels.

Vettel retired at the end of the 2022 season after a two-year stint with Aston Martin, leaving the sport as one of the most decorated drivers with four World Titles and 53 wins under his belt.
