Both the Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz are coming into this contest on the back of exciting victories in their most recent league encounters.
The Mumbai Indians registered a final over victory in their last WPL fixture against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Amanjot Kaur was the star for the 2023 champions with her taking three wickets in the first innings to help restrict the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 167 while she added a crucial unbeaten 34 off 27 balls to win the match for her franchise.
The UP Warriorz, on the other hand, following two defeats in their opening two fixtures, have now won two games on the bounce against the Delhi Capitals and most recently a Super Over win against RCB in Match 9.
Moreover, the last couple of games for UPW has seen a lot of their players put their hands up and make a difference. Although both Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris are yet to make any significant contribution with the bat, their Indian batters have stepped in with small cameos to give the UPW bowlers a reasonable target to defend.
Looking ahead to this match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the recent fixtures here at this venue suggests that the pitch for the game will be similar to the previous ones; a bit grassy, hard and with good carry. However, with no dew in play, both pacers and spinners have been able to extract something from this surface. Moreover, with both teams looking in fine form, it’ll be an even contest.
