We have reached the final league stage game of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 as co-hosts India face neighbours Bangladesh in the final game before the action shifts to the Playoffs.

For this game, here are our preview and predictions.

ICC Women’s CWC 2025 | Match 28: IND vs BD | 15:00 IST, October 26

The Indian girls come into this game off the back of a much-needed win against New Zealand, which not only secured them a spot in the semi-finals but also broke their three-match losing streak. The co-hosts finally got all three departments working together simultaneously. The Indian openers, Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal, both got going together finally, with both scoring two big centuries to give India a big platform at the start and Jemimah Rodrigues, who after having a hot and cold tournament, finally also got some time and runs under her belt. While India’s batting, which has clicked on most occasions, had a strong game, it was the bowling that stood out.

Not only were the opening pair of Renuka Singh and Kranti Gaud miserly and chipped in with wickets regularly, Kaur also saw her bowling depth with the likes of Pratika Rawal also rolling her arm over and getting amongst the wickets.

Bangladesh, meanwhile have been struggling with the bat and regular collapses have been a big issue and despite starts from Rubya Haider, Sharmin Akhter, Sobhana Mostary and Nigar Sultana, their experienced batting unit have failed to close out the games. Bangladesh’s strong suit in the tournament has been their bowling. Young Marufa Akter has continued to impress and lead from the front with the new ball while Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan and Fahima Khatun has been the perfect support act, being economical and regularly chipping in with wickets.

With Harmanpreet Kaur’s girls hitting fifth gear, just at the right time, before they head into the Playoffs, and given Bangladesh’s inconsistent run throughout a woeful campaign, count on India to pick up a win in the final league game of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

Fantasy XI: Pratika Rawal, Smriti Mandhana, Shobhana Mostary, Richa Ghosh (wk), Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Rabeya Khan, Renuka Singh, Fahima Khatun, Marufa Akter, Nishita Akter

Venue: Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai

Winners Prediction: India
