Financial services brand to become shirt sponsor for women’s team.

Serie A Women club Inter Milan have signed a deal with financial services brand Mastercard, which will see the latter become the new shirt sponsor for the team.

Mastercard, which had been a partner of the Inter Milan men’s team since 2018, have now expanded its partnership to also become the women’s team’s main sponsor.

As part of the deal, the Mastercard logo will appear on the women’s team’s jerseys. Mastercard will also get branding visibility across other physical and digital team inventory.

Mastercard and Inter have both previously committed to promoting and developing the women’s game, and through this partnership, they will further work on that.

Both parties will work on a host of activities to promote gender equality, diversity and inclusion in football, which will be achieved over the course of the partnership.

Alessandro Antonello, Inter Milan’s Chief Executive, commented:

Mastercard shares Inter’s commitment to equality and inclusivity and as such we’re pleased that a brand with those values at heart will appear on the jerseys worn by our female players.

Michele Centemero, Head of Operations, Mastercard Italy, added:

We are proud to consolidate our collaboration with the Nerazzurri club with the aim of sharing the emotions of this game full of values, because we know that a simple ball can give life to priceless moments.

Furthermore, we are happy to be alongside the women’s team and to be able to offer our contribution to implement sustainable programs based on teamwork, sportsmanship and inclusion that girls and women from all around the world can aspire to.

Inter previously had a €10.5 million deal with tyre brand Pirelli as their shirt sponsor for both the men’s and women’s team, but after Socios.com became the club’s main sponsor from the 2021/22 season, the deal was increased to €20 million per year but did not include the women’s team.
