Harbhajan Singh alleges PCA involved in illegal activities

Staff Staff

Former Indian cricketer and current Member of Parliament of India Harbhajan Singh has stated that the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) is involved in illegal activities. Singh currently serves as the PCA’s Chief Advisor.

Singh has alleged that he has received information from cricket enthusiasts across Punjab and PCA stakeholders that the current PCA President has been involved in a host of illegal activities. The former Men in Blue off-spinner has stated that the PCA is trying to induct close to 150 members through voting rights in an attempt to tilt the balance in its favour, which is being done with the apex council or the General Body’s knowledge. He has also alleged that the PCA is holding informal meetings in which key decisions are being taken.

Singh has also requested to the PCA to stop such activities, stating:

In the interest of the PCA and in the interest of morality, legality and transparency, I request that all such illegal activities, including induction of new members with voting rights without consultation with the Chief Advisor and without concurrence of the Apex / General Body must be stopped immediately. This will restore the integrity of the PCA.

Singh most recently participated in the second season of Legends League Cricket, captaining the Manipal Tigers team. The team finished last in the tournament, securing two wins from the six games they played.
