Day 14 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 saw three matches take place, with India’s game against Canada being abandoned due to rain.

Here’s a recap of the games that took place.

South Africa vs Nepal

Dipendra Singh Airee and Kushal Bhurtel put the Proteas in a real spot of bother as South could manage on 115. At 85-2 in 13 overs, Nepal seemed to be cruising a big upset but Tabraiz Shamsi spun a web around the Nepal batters and Marco Jansen and Ottneil Baartman’s economical spells saw South Africa steal a 1 run win to deny Nepal an upset for the ages.

South Africa – 115/7
Nepal – 114/7

New Zealand vs Uganda

The Kiwis had had a shocking tournament till date, missing out on an expected Super Eight spot but against Uganda they came all guns firing and with Trent Boult and Tim Southee leading from the front, New Zealand knocked over Uganda for 40 and chased it down with ease to take a much needed morale-boosting win.

Uganda – 40/10
New Zealand – 41/1

England vs Namibia

With rain threatening to play spoilsport, England had their hearts in their mouths as qualification for Super Eight seemed to be slipping out of their hands. Following a rain delay, a shortened match saw England go 13-2 in 2 overs before Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook propelled England to 122 in their 10 overs. Namibia started strong but Reece Topley, Sam Curran and Chris Jordan made sure England kept their Super Eight dreams alive as they restricted Namibia to 84 to take a 41 run win.

England – 122/5
Namibia – 84/3
