BCCI inks kit sponsorship deal with Adidas

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the country’s primary cricket-regulating body, has announced a partnership agreement with Adidas. The playing and practice jerseys of the Indian national cricket teams will soon feature the Adidas logo.

Following this development, Adidas has taken over as the official kit sponsorship from Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited (KKCL), otherwise known as Killer Jeans.

KKCL had been appointed as the Team India kit sponsor earlier this year, with the agreement set to expire on May 31, 2023. The decision was reached when MPL Sports withdrew from the agreement it had signed with the BCCI in November 2020, after Nike’s contract had expired.

Starting next month, the Team India jerseys will be sponsored by the German sportswear brand. When playing Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, which is set to begin on June 7, 2023, the Men in Blue will wear a shirt with the iconic Adidas logo on it.
