With a new tennis season set to get underway with the 2024 Australian Open (AO), Novak Djokovic is grabbing headlines again — this time for an off-court project.

Djokovic is set to launch “SILA”, an energy drink, on January 14, which coincides with the start of AO 2024. This is part of the Serb’s relationship with Waterdrop, which kicked off in 2023. Djokovic also sports the Waterdrop logo on the sleeve of his playing kit on the court.

SILA currently has three flavours (Grape, Lemon and Watermelon), its cubes dissolving in water to give the body a natural boost. The product is being marketed as a kind of zero-caffeine, no-sugar supplement that has been “used by tennis players for many years as they look to replenish their bodies from the rigours of a tough match on court.”

Talking about SILA, Djokovic said:

The idea to create Sila started more than 10 years ago. I started to be more disciplined, passionate and relentless in finding the best ways to improve myself both on and off the field. I was so inspired by the general state of health I was in and how it affected my performance, that I decided to think about creating my own brand that could enrich people’s lives in the same way mine did.
