We look at this season’s sponsors for last year’s Russian Premier League runners-up Lokomotiv Moscow, who’ll be featuring in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Adidas – German sportswear giant Adidas returned as Lokomotiv’s official kit supplier ahead of the 2020-21 season. After replacing Puma as the club’s official kit supplier in 2014, Adidas went on to supply Lokomotiv for the next four years, which was followed by a two-year hiatus that saw American sportswear brand Under Armour serve the club in the same capacity.

Russian Railways (???) – As one could infer from their name, Lokomotiv Moscow has had a close relationship with the Moscovian railway industry since their inception in 1922. Since its official establishment in September 2003 (after the separation of railways from the now-defunct Ministry of Railways of the Russian Federation), state-owned railway company called ‘Russian Railways’ (?????????? ???????? ?????? or simply ???) has served as the principal owner and by extension, principal sponsor of the club. However, the involvement of Russian Railways in the club’s ownership, whether direct or indirect, can be traced back to as early as the 1930s.
The Russian Transportation Ministry funded the reconstruction of the club’s home stadium at a cost of roughly US$150–170 million, which completed in 2002. In 2017, Lokomotiv changed the stadium name to RZD Arena (??? ????? in Russian) following a sponsorship deal with Russian Railways. However, since stadiums cannot feature a sponsored name during UEFA’s matches, the club’s stadium is called Stadion Lokomotiv.
Many of Russian Railways’ subsidiaries also hold a sponsorship right across the club’s digital and physical assets. Russian Railways’ ??? logo also features at the front and at the back (below the kit numbers) of Lokomotiv’s matchday kits.

1XBET – Renowned offline and online bookmaker 1XBET also serves as an official sponsor to Lokomotiv Moscow. The sponsorship deal grants 1XBET branding rights across the club’s physical and digital assets. 1XBET is also the official sleeve sponsor of the club, with its logo featuring on Locomotiv’s matchday kits, both on the left sleeve and right above the kit supplier’s (currently, Adidas) logo.

Bud – Lokomotiv’s partnership with Belgian brewing company AB InBev sees its alcohol-free beverage “Bud” serve as an official sponsor to the club.
