Partnership to celebrate launch of the upcoming movie Lightyear.

Scuderia Ferrari and Disney Pixar have teamed up ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix to celebrate the launch of Disney’s new movie, Lightyear.

The partnership is built around teamwork and speed — something that both Ferrari and Disney share. Ferrari’s drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have also voiced cameos in the Italian and Spanish versions of the animated film.

Charles Leclerc spoke about his experiences while working on the film, stating:

It was my first dubbing cameo. It was a completely different experience from what I have done in the past. The things I have in common with Buzz – well, I think the speed, we are both quite fast, we like to push the limits.

The things that pushed me to become a pilot are the adrenalin and the speed. These are the two things I immediately loved as a child and that I have always liked. It is very important to never give up, to have a clear idea of what you want to achieve.

A pilot is never alone. I’m definitely on the track alone in the car, but behind the scenes there are many people who push me to go beyond and teamwork must always come first. As Buzz has all his people, I have all my family, all my friends, my girlfriend, even my coach who follows me during all the Grands Prix. It is essential to be all together.

We are a big family, therefore there are so many people around but many people I trust very much. Going into space, as Buzz did, is definitely one of my dreams. It is a goal maybe one day I will fulfil.

The team-up will also have the Disney and Lightyear logos featured on the Ferrari race cars, near the cockpit, and also on the collar of the race suits of Leclerc and Sainz. Additionally, the logos will also be present on the driver helmets.

This isn’t the first time that Formula One drivers have lent their voices for movies, with Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel all having lent their voices previously to the English, Spanish and German versions respectively of Cars 3

Lightyear is a spinoff to one of the most iconic film series, Toy Story. The new movie focuses on the character of Buzz Lightyear and is set to release globally on June 17, 2022.
