Fila Luxembourg has extended its apparel and shoe sponsorship deal with World’s No. 1 tennis star Ashleigh Barty. Ash in her statement said “Fila has been by my side through the most exciting times of my career, and I could not be more delighted that they will continue to support me in my tennis journey. They have been an integral part of my success on the court, and I am honoured to continue to represent such an iconic brand with a rich heritage in tennis and beyond.”

The 24-year-old Australian tennis star has been sponsored by Fila since 2016. She conquered the French Open, her first Grand Slam title, in 2019. Ash completed 2020 with the number one ranking for the second consecutive year. She is the second Australian woman to hold the title since Evonne Goolagong Cawley in 1976.

To celebrate the re-signing of their successful partnership, Fila has come up with an exclusive, limited promotional package which includes a custom-made Ash Barty practice tee and a face mask, both with “AB” logo. This will be available to female junior tennis players at various tennis academies in Australia and the United States, as well as via Ash’s social media channels.

Gene Yoon, Global Chairman, Fila, said, “Ash’s meteoric rise to the top of the tennis universe over the past several years has been incredible to behold, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to continue our relationship with her. Ash is a remarkable individual who has made an incredible impact not only through her play on-court but also through her actions off-the-court in her local community and she is a role model for young women around the world. We look forward to being a part of her continued success for many years to come.”

At the upcoming Australian Open, Ash and other Fila-sponsored athletes will be wearing the latest Back Court collection. It is an amalgamation of colours navy, lime and light purple.

Along with Fila, Ash Barty is sponsored by multiple brands such as Jaguar, Kayo Sports, Vegemite, Head and Rado in her professional tennis career.

After parting ways with Seiko in January 2021, Novak Djokovic stayed without a watch sponsor for almost eight months before joining forces with Hublot in August 2021.  Hublot stood by Novak even after his deportation from Australia. Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe expressed his and the brand’s stance on the situation:  "We are waiting to see what his position is with regards to all that he went through," he said in an interview.  "The principle of vaccines is that it's something private. We value personal freedom. Everybody can decide. One can be in favour or against. That is our position."
