LaLiga to continue supporting youth football in the UK

Spain’s top division football league, the LaLiga has announced a partnership extension with Bloomsbury Football, with the partnership set to continue supporting and growing the game in the UK amongst the youth. The partnership, which is in its third year, will see both work together to host tournaments involving more than 5,000 children to inspire the youth. LaLiga will also work on a programme aimed at upskilling the Bloomsbury Football team members through training aimed at promoting the positive values of the sport and their application in daily life and using the game as a tool for social inclusion. There will also be a financial scholarship for 45 boys and girls to help them participate in the programme.

The programme will include LaLiga teams such as Athletic Club, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla FC and Valencia FC who will provide local boys and girls their kits. There will also be two mixed weekend events across North London and a girls-only event through a collaboration with local schools as they look to grow the women’s game.

Keegan Pierce, Director of International Relations at LaLiga, commented,

“This partnership has already done so much to encourage more players to enter into the Bloomsbury ecosystem, and we are so pleased to be partnering again for the 2024/25 season. With so much growth year on year as well as the support from so many clubs, we hope to continue to give back to our community here in London, while also inspiring young LALIGA fans and increasing the fan engagement with Spanish football.”

Charlie Hyman, CEO of Bloomsbury, added,

“Our shared confidence in the power of football to change young people’s lives makes this partnership thrive. I am delighted to work with LaLiga to continue creating memorable experiences filled with excitement, learning and personal growth. Going forward this season, we will continue to ensure that our sessions are accessible to all, and I strongly believe that we can help make anything possible for these young footballers.”
