Chinese electrical appliance company to continue sponsoring City’s men’s and women’s teams.

Premier League champions Manchester City have announced an extension of their partnership with Midea, which partners both their men’s and women’s teams.

Now in its third term, the partnership sees the electrical appliance company collaborate with City to create ‘engaging digital content’ for their fans worldwide. Midea has also planned to work with the ‘City In The Community’ programme, which is aimed at fighting social challenges in Manchester together. The company has also announced that in the coming months it will place its appliances all over the Etihad Stadium in order to provide enhanced facilities to the players and fans alike.

Speaking about the continuation of the partnership, Roel de Vries, City Football Group’s Chief Operating Officer, stated:

Manchester City’s partnership with Midea has gone from strength to strength and we are delighted to extend our relationship once again.

The enterprise has shown great understanding in how to engage with City fans around the world by producing some of our strongest performing social media content in recent seasons and we’re now looking forward to expanding this partnership into community outreach and product integration.

Eric Wang, Vice President Midea Group and President and CEO of Midea Group’s International Business Division, commented:

Partnering with Manchester City gives us great global visibility and a business partner with the same high ambitions towards the future.

We aim to showcase our smart home appliances to fans and bolster our global brand presence and we are looking forward to igniting excitement throughout the entire season by bringing people closer together and enjoying their homes even more.

Midea’s partnership with the City Football Group sees the company also serve as a partner to New York City FC, Manchester City’s sister club in the Major League Soccer.
