India take on arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24, 2021.

As the world gets ready for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, fans have been treated to the latest edition of the ‘Mauka Mauka’ advertisement.

The latest instalment to the ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad campaign was broadcast by Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the tournament. The ad campaign, which started during the 2015 Cricket World Cup, continues, with the latest version based around India and Pakistan’s clash in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The latest version showcases the now well-known Pakistani supporter (portrayed by Vishal Malhotra), who goes to a TV store in a Dubai mall to inquire about a set for the upcoming clash. The fan tells the Indian shop owner how Pakistani stars Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan will shatter the glasses in Delhi with their sixes from Dubai. The Indian shop owner wittingly replies back, presenting two television sets to the fan, reminding him about Pakistan’s woeful record against India in World Cups and how after every loss the fans vent out their frustration on the television sets. The iconic rivalry and its passion and emotions of the fans continue to be showcased in a friendly manner with a hint of cheeky humour.

The ‘Mauka Mauka’ series has been entirely conceptualised and created by the in-house Star Sports team.

Commenting on the latest ‘Mauka Mauka’ advertisement, Sanjog Gupta, Head-Sports, Star and Disney India, said:

The India-Pakistan clash is one of the biggest matchups in the world of sports. The clash at an ICC event attracts core and casual Cricket fans as well as viewers who don’t watch any other Cricket. The historic on-field rivalry between both teams is unparalleled and we believe that the iconic ‘Mauka Mauka’ campaign captures the spirit of this rivalry, blending competitiveness, banter and sportsmanship.

India and Pakistan resume their rivalry in the upcoming T20 World Cup with India holding the upper hand, given how the Men in Blue have beaten their neighbours in all their previous World Cup meetings in both the ODI and T20I formats.

While the Men in Blue will look to continue their dominance over their neighbours, Pakistan will look to change that record and get themselves off the mark, and with talents like Babar Azam, Mohammed Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Shaheen Shah Afridi mixed with the experience of Shobaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan will hope to repeat their 2009 success to take the trophy home.
